Friday Faves + Chit Chat

Happy Fri-YAY! In honor of my birthday I wanted to share some of my favorite things as of late (cue Mary Poppins singing).

It has been a while since I have come on here and just chatted with you all. My family likes to call my audience "The Cali Cubs" I kinda like it, what do you think? I think we create a nice little den family if I do say so myself (fun fact that's where I came up with the idea for the Design Den) :)

Anyway, besides being at my almost quarter life crisis, I have really stopped to think about everything I am grateful for and even though we all face battles, there is always a silver lining. Keep your held held high & never stop working towards that dream of yours. Persistence and perseverance goes a long way loves.

I know, you're probably saying GET TO THE FAVORITES ALREADY, so without further adieu here they are!

Kawaii Design

How stinkin' cute are kawaii designs?! I have recently come across them in my planning obsessed youtube watching phase and have even created a fun sticker sheet for you with this cute lil cuppa!

Calligraphy

Can we all just have a moment of silence for how beautiful lettering is? Maybe it is the designer in me, but it is such beautiful art skill to have! I plan on learning the art of calligraphy soon so if you know of any classes, programs or supplies let me know in the comments!

Planning & Accessories

Where do I even begin with this favorite. Between watching plan with me videos on YouTube, following planner shops on Instagram and connecting with so many fabulous ladies in the community it is truly such an inspiring hobby and community. I enjoy planning to stay on top of my to dos and stay motivated to actually check things off my to do list (it is a lot easier when everything is pretty and cute just sayin').

Hgtv

Can we all fan over the show Fixer Upper for a sec. How cute are they?! I have been OBSESSED with watching them and House Hunters you know just trying to get some ideas for my future house. I love just relaxing watching HGTV to take my mind off everything and just destress before bed. HGTV is definitely my go to when I want to relax or just have something on in the background!

Being Creative

There was a period of time where I was so busy that my creative juices just weren't flowing. This was due to the fact that I wasn't setting aside time to design and create. I realized how important designing and creating are to me and making time for those things have really helped me get back on that creative flow and have really helped my mindset.

What have you been loving recently?

P.S. I really enjoyed writing this & think I am going to chit chat with my cubs more often!  Comment Cub Den 4 Life if you liked this post and want to see more like it! ;)

5 Fun Ways To Spark Inspiration

As an entrepreneur it is normal to go through ruts and feel uninspired. When this happens I shut all my technology off for a good while and go back to square one and do things that make me happy and it always gets me fired up again!

Change up your computer screensaver and clean up your desktop

Organizing my computer always makes my mind feel clearer. Changing up my desktop background every so often helps me to change my perspective and get inspiration form a quote or a shiny glittery gold backdrop!

Read a magazine or book (fashion magazines always inspire my creativity)

I have always loved fashion and this business stemmed from my love of design and creativity. Browsing through fashion magazines and seeing all the different colors, textures and patterns inspire the designer in me and always give me new ideas for color palettes, images and logos!

Decorate something (planner, draw, write)

My newest obsession has been planner decorating. It makes planning your to dos so much fun and it inspires you to get them done. Decorating my planner or just simply doodling inspires my creative juices. There is something to be said for simplicity.

Browse Pinterest

This may be a give in but whenever I am stuck on blog posts to write or ideas for my business I like to browse Pinterest to see what's trending and what my ideal audience is pinning. After having a little pinning mesh I am always ready to pop out a blog post!

Get out and do something fun!

Whenever I am in a rut, I always find that getting out of the house and going to a cute coffee shop with a friend, a city adventure or just meeting up with someone who inspires me really helps and gets me back on track!

What are some fun ways you stay inspired?
